5 Steps to get the Business Visa
- Apply for work permit at Royal Thai Embassy before entering Thailand
- Obtain the work permit approval
- Apply for non-immigrant B visa from Thai Embassy
- Enter to Thailand by non-immigrant B visa and obtain the work permit
- Renew the non-immigrant B visa for 1 year under work permit
Criteria for consideration
Before renewal of 1 year visa, make sure that you are qualified the criterials as follows:
- The expat must have been granted a non-immigrant visa and has a valid Work Permit
- The expat must earn a minimum income according to nationality as follows:
- Canada, Japan, United States: 60,000 THB
- Europe (inc. United Kingdom), Australia: 50,000 THB
- Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan: 45,000 THB
- India, Malaysia, Middle East: 45,000 THB
- China, Indonesia, Philippines: 35,000 THB
- Africa (all), Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam: 25,000 THB
- Persons working for newspapers in Thailand: 20,000 THB
- The business must have a paid-up registered capital of no less than 2 million Baht.
- Said business must have submitted its financial statements as at the end of its fiscal year for the past two accounting years which have duly been audited and certified by a certified public accountant or a tax auditor, to prove that the business is sufficiently secure with actual and continuous operation. Therefore, the total revenue must show an amount higher than the total salary and benefits paid to the employees.
- Said business needs to hire aliens.
- Said business must have a ratio of 1 expat employee per 4 permanent Thai employees.
- The following businesses shall be exempted from the Criteria (3), (4), and (5), and the ratio of Thai employees specified under Criteria (6), shall be reduced to 1 expat employee per 1 permanent Thai employee:
- (a) International trade business (representative office)
- (b) Regional office
- (c) Overseas company (branch office)
What if I married Thai partner and apply for business visa under my company?
Then, the Criteria (3) and (6) will be decreased as follows:
- The business must have a paid-up registered capital of no less than 1 million Baht.
- Said business must have a ratio of 1 expat employee per 2 permanent Thai employees.

Note: Additional documents or interview may be required by Consular Office and Immigration if it deems necessary.
How many times can I departure and re-entry Thailand?
The departure and re-entry permit shall be valid for one year from the
date the competent official has made the same and during that one year period the holder of the visa can make as many departures and re-entries as desirable.
