Marriage Registration in Thailand

In the matter of getting married in Thailand, either Thais or foreigners can apply for marriage registration at any District Office without prior appointment. However, the District Office may limit the number of marriage registration each day. The spouse must bring two witnesses and the witness must know the spouse well and one of them should be a relative of the spouse. The witness must speak and understand the Thai language. If the spouse is not able to communicate with the registrar in the Thai language, then the spouse must bring an interpreter to translate the marriage registration procedures.
